MODEL 5520
THE aDBD NEUTRALIZER
An annular dielectric barrier discharge neutralizer
The GRIMM 5520 aDBD aerosol neutralizer is based on an annular dielectric barrier discharge that produces a bipolar ionic atmosphere. Irregularly charged particles (from ambient or lab generated) are brought into a defined stationary-state charge distribution, regardless of their initial charging state. The aDBD was developed as alternative to established aerosol chargers / neutralizers since it avoids the need to use radioactive radiation to produce molecular ions to bring aerosol particles into a defined charging state. Therefore, no special handling license is required for the GRIMM 5520 aDBD aerosol neutralizer. As all GRIMM neutralizers, the aDBD 5520 is compatible with all GRIMM DMAs and GRIMM SMPS+C systems.
