MODEL 5520-19" ADBD
19" NEUTRALIZER FOR RACK INSTALLATIONS
The 19" version of the annular dielectric barrier discharge neutralizer
The GRIMM 5520-19 aDBD aerosol neutralizer is based on an annular dielectric barrier discharge that produces a bipolar ionic atmosphere. Irregularly charged particles (from ambient or lab generated) are brought into a defined stationary-state charge distribution, regardless of their initial charging state. The 19” rack-mounted versions of the aDBD was developed as alternative to established aerosol chargers / neutralizers since it avoids the need to use radioactive radiation to produce molecular ions to bring aerosol particles into a defined charging state. Therefore, no special handling license is required for the GRIMM 5520-19 aDBD aerosol neutralizer and is in regular use for the GRIMM Environmental Wide Range Aerosol Spectrometer (WRAS) 665. As all GRIMM neutralizers, the aDBD 5520-19 is compatible with all GRIMM DMAs and GRIMM SMPS+C systems.
