The History of the Company Grimm Aerosol Technik

1. Grimm Labortechnik GmbH & Co. KG

   In 1981, the engineer Mr. Hans Jürgen Grimm established a scientific instrumentation company. He called it “GRIMM Labortechnik GmbH & Co. KG” and specialized in the field “PARTICLE MEASUREMENT”.

2. The Beginning

   
   In Western Europe the clean room and filter testing industry have prevailed initially, but in the later years the focus has changed to air control in pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. Most of the users in Eastern Europe, however, come from research institutes, so when the iron curtain collapsed, many of our established research clients in the Eastern European countries changed their work focus.

3. Environmental and Occupational

   
   Due to these political changes in Eastern Europe, the company also had to change its marketing direction toward the Western European market and has started to develop products in the health and safety related fields associated with “PARTICLE MEASUREMENT”. Therefore we have developed different aerosol monitors for ENVIRONMENTAL and OCCUPATIONAL use.

4. Nano and Emission

   
   Meanwhile not only these two segments have been developed into a wide range of products, but more sensitive technologies have been added such as new NANO and EMISSION technologies, and the corresponding range of applications is steadily increasing.

5. Grimm Aerosol Technik GmbH & Co. KG

   
   Today we have the most comprehensive AEROSOL product line and our customer base is constantly growing. Due to this new orientation we decided to change our name in 1999 into GRIMM AEROSOL TECHNIK GmbH & Co. KG.

6. Europe and North America

   
   Meanwhile GRIMM maintains offices in Europe and in North America. These facilities have been opened due to the growing interest in the US in portable aerosol monitors and also to support all our existing customers.

7. Made in Germany

   Currently all instruments are made in Germany, but GRIMM Aerosol Technik is planning to expand into new areas in the very near future. Therefore a support office has been established in Singapore and a second office will soon be opened in cooperation with a Chinese University. At the present time the company has more than 70 employees, the owner of all operations is Mr. Hans Grimm in Germany.

8. New Research Center

   
   Our research team has steadily increased and a new center has been established, focusing mainly on NANO technologies. Here we work on different projects in cooperation with scientists from all over Europe in order to create state-of-the-art instruments.
